The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Mizoram University was established in March, 2009 with financial assistance from the University Grant Commissionto upgrade the knowledge and skills of faculty members of the institutions of higher education. It became functional in the same year with the appointment Prof. Tlanglawma,the senior most professor of Mizoram University, as the founderDirector along with Prof. Lalnundanga as the Deputy Director on additional charge basis and 3 supporting staff on Muster Roll basis. With the retirement of the founder Director on 31stOctober, 2010, Prof. RP Vadhera became the next Director on additional charge basis.

        After formal advertisement, the Mizoram University successfully recruited in 2013, three UGC sanctioned Academic posts (Director/Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor), 1 Section Officer, 1 Assistant, 1 Computer Operator, 1 Technical Assistant, 1 UDC, 1 Multi Tasking Staff, 1 Hostel Attendant and 1 Semi-Professional Assistant for the Library.

              HRDC has its own Academic and Administrative building and its own Guest House attach with kitchen for its Outstation Participants (i.e Participants form outside Mizoram State).The HRDC has its exclusive Library with 500 Books (titles) and a reading room, and it also has its own dedicated Computer Lab.
